It’s official: SEMA 2025 is rocking its way through the week, and one of the most notable debuts of this year’s show was Gas Monkey Garage’s Synister X Chevelle. Commissioned by the pros at System X, a leading innovator in automotive protection technology, Synister X is a fully custom street bruiser that’s built around a 1,200 horsepower Late Model Engines (LME) LT4 and a world-class Speedtech chassis. What’s more, in typical Richard Rawlings fashion, the build was completed in just 30 days.

Ground-Up Appeal

Because this is a build that was constructed for System X to keep and enjoy, the car’s appeal goes far beyond the gloss on its deep black paint. Engineered for pro touring track builds and restomod street builds, this Chevelle’s fully independent Speedtech ExtReme Chevelle chassis is both disciplined on the street and strong enough for the track. In addition to the latest in chassis innovation, that setup includes a fully independent, cross-cantilever rear suspension that’s fitted with remote-reservoir QA1 shocks.

This car was commissioned for the owner of the organization. Not only did he want it sinister, but he wanted some wild horsepower, and Gas Monkey, in true Gas Monkey form, definitely fulfilled his needs and wants. — Todd Rutovich, System X

All The Power

Supplied by Late Model Engines (LME), the Synister X Chevelle’s 427 cubic inch LT4 V8 utilizes a 2.7-liter Magnuson supercharger to create an impressive 1,200 horsepower. That mill, which features a roster of forged components, stays cool thanks to a custom Wizard Cooling radiator. Glorious V8 sounds drop through Ultimate Headers to three-inch stainless Magnaflow exhaust, which is finished with custom, CNC-ed exhaust outlets that are fully integrated into the car’s body.

All About The Details

Beginning life as a solid Malibu cruiser, Synister X was fully stripped, widened, and fitted with fresh Auto Metal Direct (AMD) quarter panels. TITANS of CNC created a custom, one-off grille and custom billet headlight bezels that make an excellent first impression. Fesler flush-mount glass shades a custom cockpit that’s finished with exclusive Sparco carbon fiber seats and crisp Audison Thesis audio. And stylish HRE wheels are paired with serious Wilwood discs at all four corners.

System X’s Synister X Chevelle isn’t just another SEMA show car, it’s a fully running street bruiser that the company plans to drive and enjoy for a long time.
