Project Mulligan Gets A New Lease on Life

The Lateral-g.net forums are always cool to check out, even if you’re a drag-racing fan, because sometimes it can be educational to see how the “other side” does things. We found this build thread over there on a sweet 1967 Camaro the owner has dubbed “Project Mulligan”.

The car has a spotted history and has apparently been through a couple of owners, none of whom could manage to seal the deal and get the car back on the road. The Camaro spent most of its life in California and came to the current owner in a half-finished state, but the base for the project was solid and strong.

A number of custom parts had already been installed including minitubs, a full roll-cage, Chris Alston real coil-over setup, Detroit Speed and Engineering frame connectors and subframe, along with a sweet custom 3.5-inch exhaust and a bunch of other cool items including some body modifications to clean up the car’s exterior.

Within a week, the owner immediately started in on the bodywork, getting the car where he wanted it while formulating a plan of attack for the mechanicals. An LS2 engine complete with Kenne Bell 2.9 supercharger, Moser Enginering 12-bolt rear, Wilwood six-piston brakes, and even Vintage Air to cool things down inside are all on the list of planned modifications.

We really like the custom work he put into the cowl area, as the way it follows the body lines straight to the windshield is a nice touch. Check out the build thread and tell us what you think!
