It’s not every day that we pay attention to car crashes in Russia, but when they involve classic American muscle cars, it certainly perks us up. According to autoevolution, American muscle is exactly what went crashing into a pole in Russia earlier this month and the results aren’t pretty. What a tragic ending to an otherwise out of the ordinary Russian car and piece of American muscle history.
The accident involving a 1966 Malibu happened earlier this month, having been posted about on Russia’s equivalent to Facebook called VK.com on March 5th.
According to the post, the driver of the Malibu was okay after the accident. Unfortunately, we can’t say the same about the car.
Apparently slippery roads led to the collision of the ’66 Malibu into a pole in the Russian city of Engels, which pretty much caved in the entire front end of the car.
Although the hood, passenger’s side tire, engine bay, engine and the whole front end will all need to be straightened out, we don’t think the car is probably a lost cause to rebuild, however. That is if the frame isn’t tweaked too badly.
