At first glance, you’re probably thinking this looks like yet another pro-touring Camaro. A flashy paint job, oversized three piece wheels, and some body modifications to clean up the overall look of the car. We’ve seen this look time and time again, and for good reason: it works and looks killer.
But then like a bad nightmare, we scrolled down while on EngineSwapDepot.com and started reading about the car. This ’69 has some help from some Toyota car parts on it. You read that right, Toyota parts. Not Corvette, Cadillac, Camaro, or any other GM influence. They didn’t even stay in domestic, maybe using parts from a Ford or Mopar vehicle.
What you see is a full Toyota truck interior swapped into the car. A plush tan and khaki interior adorns the first gen Camaro, but oddly enough looks somewhat well executed. Whoever did this swap did a good job, we give them some credit. Nothing appears hacked into place or shoved in with sawzall and hammer in some shady shop. That doesn’t make the swap right, but somebody put some serious effort into the interior swap.
Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it does. The motor has been swapped too. Again, not a Corvette, Camaro or any other GM motor. They stuck with the Toyota theme and swapped in a 1JZ motor. These motors are an inline six, with a measly 152 cubic inches. With the size of ’69 Camaro, we imagine that motor struggles to move the car.
What the heck do you even call this? A Toyota Camaro? Toymaro? Camyota? Whatever you call it, we hope that this is the last 1969 Toyota Camaro that we will ever see. We are all for modifications on cars, but this one has crossed the line for us!
