What’s got eight letters and is just around the corner? That’s right, it’s the SEMA Show. Drawing hundreds of thousands of industry figures and thousands of businesses from around the world, the colossal event is a Las Vegas, spectacle that is set to amaze visitors with awesome new products, epic outside demonstrations, and more than a few eye-popping vehicles.

One of those vehicles will be this 1972 Chevrolet C10 belonging to Crown Suspension of Brea, California. Jason Erik, owner of both the shop and the truck, is putting the final touches on the C10 as it proceeds quickly toward the finish line – and not a minute too soon. “We plan to have the Chevy wrapped up by Friday the 23rd,” he said. “We’ve been working on it since April of this year, and we’re super pleased with how it’s turned out so far.”
Jason recognized the recent trend in C10 popularity, which spurred him into action in the first place. “C10s have become very big for us,” he explained. “We wanted to build one to take to the SEMA Show. I did a rendering back in January, and went to CFR Performance to see if they’d be interested. They were, so we got the ball rolling.”
Changes to the truck were drastic. Performance Online (POL) disc brakes were fitted to all four corners; the suspension was lowered 7 inches at the rear, and 5 1/2 inches in the front. There is a staggered-fitment set of US Mag wheels (24-inch rears, 22-inch fronts) installed, and the 350 cubic-inch small-block V8 is fitted with CFR dress-up parts. The bed was tubbed and raised (and will soon receive a bedliner from OC Rhino Lining out of Santa Ana, California), and the stock limited-slip rearend was given new bearings and narrowed to accommodate the wheels.

The interior received a rebuild with work done by Fantana’s Upholstery of Santa Fe Springs, California. Custom Autosound was sourced to help make the painted dash stand out, and their product installation – including an authentic-looking Slidebar radio, kick panels, Undercover II seat speaker enclosure, and System 1 amplified speaker system – is being installed at the time of this writing.
In all, the C10 will be one to check out at this year’s SEMA Show. We at Chevy Hardcore tip our hats to Crown Suspension and its awesome work on the truck, and wish the team our best, as it prepares to head to Las Vegas. We encourage you to find out more about the C10 on Crown Suspension’s website, and don’t forget to check out Custom Autosound on its website and Facebook page.
