If you ever wanted to take a step back in time, here is your chance. This classic, unmolested Chevrolet has only recently seen the light of day, and has only ever known one family. Posted on Craigslist, check out Charles Milnes’ 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air that is as clean and preserved as can be. “It’s never sat outside, nor does it have any rust,” Charles said. “The paint is in great condition for its age, and it wasn’t until recently that this car saw sunlight.”

It is a true rarity to see a car this old with almost no rust, and this Chevy has stood the test of time by being lucky to have stayed inside all these years. Complete with all of its original documentation and stock components in place, the brakes may not work on this Chevy, but the Blue Flame inline six-cylinder engine starts up and runs like a champ, with a little bit of smoke. But, that shouldn’t stop anyone from thinking about sliding a bigger and badder engine under the hood to complement this beautiful American classic.

The engine has experienced a recent tune up, and with only a few tears in the interior and some much needed tender loving care, this Bel Air is almost car show ready if you ask us.

The fact that the 59-year-old paint has held up for this long is astonishing. The bumpers have an almost like-new shine, and the rest of the chrome trim is simply immaculate. All-in-all, this would make a great start for anyone looking for their next project, and that begs the question, would you restore this Chevy or build a custom? What would be your first order of business if you got this car? Let us know in the comments below.

“Putting the car on a lift, I saw no signs of rust, even near the trunk,” Charles said. “The title has only been transferred once, and that was back in 1984 to a family member in New Jersey.”
