This 1971 Chevrolet K10 Cheyenne Super short-bed pickup is a meticulous blend of vintage four-wheel-drive character and modern performance engineering. Built by JPS Customs and identified as Build Badge No. 28, the truck has been comprehensively reworked from the chassis up while remaining titled as a 1971 Chevy K20.
ZZ632 Power And Modern Drivetrain

Under the hood, a GM Performance ZZ632 big-block V8, displacing 632 cubic inches, produces 1,004 horsepower and 876 lb-ft of torque on pump gas. That naturally aspirated mill delivers brute force without relying on boost, emphasizing durability and instant throttle response. Power flows through a built Hughes Performance 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission to a billet two-speed Atlas transfer case. Tom Wood’s driveshafts and Currie axles complete a drivetrain package that’s engineered to withstand four-digit power levels.
Custom Stainless Works headers connect to a 3-inch exhaust system created with smooth bends, and the engine bay has been carefully cleaned up by hiding wires and removing unnecessary bolts for a neat, high-quality look.
Roadster Shop RS4 Chassis And Suspension
This sweet Chevrolet K10 rides a Roadster Shop RS4 chassis that’s finished in Charcoal Gray Cerakote Satin. A four-link setup, complete with long-travel Fox coilover shocks, handles suspension duties, providing modern ride control without sacrificing off-road capability. Braking comes from Baer RS4 calipers and large rotors, front and rear, assisted by hydro-boost to manage both the truck’s mass and performance potential.
Exterior Restoration And Details
The Chevrolet K10’s body was rotisserie-restored before being refinished in a two-tone Jet Black and Linen White basecoat/clearcoat. The finish was hand-sanded and polished to a high standard, complemented by upper and lower wood-grain moldings that reference the original Cheyenne Super trim. New smoked glass, weatherstripping, felts, rubbers, and brightwork complete the exterior.

Out back, the bed features a dark walnut wood floor sealed with satin clearcoat and boltless polished strips. Fuel access is handled through an LS Fab Easy Fill hidden behind the taillight, with the fuel tank relocated outside the cab for safety and packaging.
Custom Interior And Comfort Features

Inside, the cabin combines high-grain materials with French seams, a chocolate suede-wrapped headliner, and wood-grain dash and door panels inspired by the factory Cheyenne Super. Front buddy bucket seats incorporate a folding center console that converts into a third seat, with additional rear storage compartments integrated into the design. Dakota Digital gauges, a Billet Specialties steering wheel, Vintage Air Gen V climate control, and a retro-style audio system round out a cabin built for both show and real-world usability.
