For Camaro enthusiasts the first quarter of 2012 cannot come fast enough. In the first quarter of 2012 Chevrolet will start production of its highly anticipated ’12 Camaro ZL1. The ZL1 will feature the 550 horsepower 6.2L supercharged V8 under the hood, and a list of upgrades that will make it the meanest production Camaro available today.
AutoBlog is reporting that, at the homecoming of the Camaro at the GM Oshawa plant this week, Chevrolet released some more details about the ZL1. When the Camaro becomes available you can expect it to have a couple extra perks. The first of which will be an automatic transmission option.
The other news out of Oshawa was that the ZL1 will have the same Performance Traction Management System(PTMS) that is found on the Corvette ZR1. The PTMS on the ZR1 features launch control, traction control, active handling, and some assorted ride control systems.
