In the midst of the muscle car wars, the LS6 Chevelle SS with a 454cui engine was created. As one of the ultimate muscle cars of its day, the ‘70 Chevelle SS is a sought after piece of fine American style and power. If you, like so many individuals, have a soft spot in your heart for this car, you are in luck- one is set to be auctioned off at an upcoming Mecum auction and could be yours for the right bid.

The Chevelle comes equipped with much of its original equipment, including its numbers-matching 454cui, 450hp V8 engine, M-22 four-speed transmission, 12-bolt Positraction rear end and factory sheet metal. This car also comes with many factory options, such as power front disc brakes, a ZL2 cowl-induction hood, F41 suspension, SS wheels and an auxiliary light package. After undergoing a detailed restoration, the Chevelle was painted in Fathom Blue with white Rally race stripes. The exterior is complimented with a black interior that includes Strato bucket seats, Tach gauges, a factory correct AM radio and a GM sport steering wheel.

To top it off, the Chevelle comes with its original factory build sheet and photo documentation of the complete restoration. The car even comes with its original Protect-O-Plate. This car is a superb example of the ultimate Chevelle and is sure to make any owner happy with many of its original, correct date coded components still in tact.

If you are interested in bidding on this fine piece of machinery, you can do so at the Daytime Auction coming up next week. The Chevelle is set to cross the auction block on Friday, August 19th at 1:25p.m. We wish anyone who is planning to bid on this car good luck.
