Drag racing would not be the same without the pioneers of the 1950s, like Tony Berardini. As part of The Berardini Bro’s racing team, Berardini left a legacy, not only for his family but for drag racing fans young and old. In the footsteps of his dad, Carl Berardini has dappled in high performance muscle cars. Thanks to Mecum Auctions, you will have the opportunity to bid on one of these fine muscle cars, backed by the Berardini legacy, next weekend.

The car up for bid is a ‘67 Chevrolet Impala. Berardini has owned the car for 16 years and has done some significant performance modifications to it. The Impala comes equipped with a new 508cui, 744hp engine that runs on 91 octane pump gas and has never seen the abuse of the drag strip. The engine sports a 1060cfm carburetor built by Santa Fe Springs, California company C&J Engineering, Matteson radiator and Meril heads.

While the Impala hasn’t been raced with its new engine, it is set up for some serious use. It comes equipped with ladder bars, a 9-inch rear end with 3.55 rear end gears, Koni coilovers built by Grant Downing, and a Turbo 400 transmission complete with a shift kit. To stop this powerful Impala, the car is set up with a HydroBoost breaking system and four-wheel disc brakes.

The Impala will be auctioned off at the Daytime Auction in Monterey, California on Thursday, August 18th. Bidding for the car will start at 2:05p.m. This car is truly one of a kind and we look forward to seeing just how much attention this powerful Impala gets.
