Owning a one-of-a-kind custom ride is a source of pride for those who are privileged enough to own one. These custom vehicles say a lot about the people who own them and really give them an outlet for self expression. Recently, a very custom Chevy was added to the line-up of vehicles to be sold at the fast-approaching St. Charles Mecum Auction. While it’s not for everyone, we’re sure that this hot ride will get plenty of attention at the auction.
The Chevy up for bid is a ‘55 Bel Air Station Wagon. It is custom from its interior and engine to its unique paint job. The Bel Air is fitted with a 502cui V8 big block with a billet serpentine system complete with chromed and polished pulleys. It also has an aluminum radiator and dual electric fans. The engine is matted to a 700R4 transmission with electric lock-up and a 2500-stall converter. Power disc brakes, power steering, MSD Ignition system blaster coil, custom headers and a Flowmaster exhaust top off the performance modifications done to this custom Bel Air.
The custom houndstooth interior includes a billet steering wheel, chrome tilt steering column, a 3-foot power sunroof, power front windows, a Dakota Digital dash and clock with a programmable speedometer, and a Sony CD player with 2900 watt amplifier. To round this Bel Air out, the station wagon is painted black with custom graduated flames.
If you are interested in owning this one-of-a-kind custom Bel Air, it is set to cross the auction block on Thursday September 15th at 5:20p.m. Make sure to attend the St. Charles auction at this time if you’re interested or you’ll miss your chance at owning this hot ride.
