Cool Tool Tuesday: Soft Tube Bending Made Simple

If you are a do-it-yourself mechanic on a do-it-yourself budget, then a budget tool that allows you to do the same things as the industrial guys is a big deal. We found one of those really cool DIY tools with a blue collar pricetag.

Malco Products, Inc., located in Annandale, Minnesota, just outside the Minneapolis/St. Paul metroplex, specializes in budget tools for the handyman. We just happened to find one of their automotive budget tools that is perfect for the garage and at a budget price of under $20 a pop, we’d spring for this set for our personal tool chest.

Malco’s tube benders are a simple but effective way of bending soft tubing, like brake or fuel lines, without collapsing the tubing walls, and without breaking the bank on a new tool purchase. These simple tools are designed to bend copper, aluminum, brass and steel from 1/4″ to 3/4″ diameter.

Speaking of simple, these benders are easy to use. Simply side the spring over the outside of the tube, and one inside the tube on larger diameter tubing, then bend the tubing by hand to the desired shape. Malco claims that the tubes can be bent up to 180 degrees with these economical benders.

Summit Racing offers these benders individually or in a complete 5 piece kit. Go to the Summit product page by clicking here.

Tube bending has never been as easy or affordable.
