It’s been a few months now since the holiday season but we just got word from K&N Engineering that one of their own hot rods received a Best of Show recognition at the John Force Holiday Car Show back in December. Our congratulations goes out to the company not only for their show win, but also for creating such a stunning ride.
The ‘55 Chevy was built by K&N Engineering some time ago and has been enjoying the luxurious life of car shows and public appearances since.
The most noticeable thing on the car is the unique paint scheme. Finished in Sunset Pearl, a color specifically designed for the Chevy by House of Colors, the exterior also features true-fire flames up the front and the K&N emblem proudly positioned on the hood.
The car’s unique look is finished off with plenty of chrome.
With such a unique look, you’d expect something of the same caliber under the hood and K&N did not disappoint. They used an all aluminum Chevy 350 Brodix block and cylinder heads, and equipped it with their very own air filter and XStream air filter top. With these two K&N products, the engine, which runs on 112 octane fuel, can breath with virtually no restrictions and perform to its full potential. The Chevy also makes use of a K&N oil filter.

Travis Hodges on his way to the John Force Holiday Car Show in the K&N Chevy On December 4th, 2011, K&N’s Travis Hodges took the Chevy to the John Force Holiday Car Show in Yorba Linda, California, joined by his uncle driving a ‘68 Camaro. The show, which is an annual event put on by NHRA racer John Force to benefit the California Highway Patrol and their CHiP’s for Kids Toy Drive, proved to be a popular event with almost 1,000 hot rods, classics and customs on display.
While at the show, Hodges received a Best of Show recognition for the K&N Chevy. Of the almost 1,000 participants, only 40 were given a Best of Show recognition, showing just how good the winners were.
Our congratulations goes out to K&N Engineering for winning the Best of Show recognition and we look forward to seeing the company’s ’55 Chevy out at shows again this upcoming season.
