During the 1950’s, America experienced an era of automotive excess unlike any other time in history…except maybe the present day. You see, many excesses of this era are making a comeback in the automotive community, especially the focus on chrome. And while cars have always utilized chrome, sometimes a whole mess of it in the case of the 1950’s, only recently have entire vehicles been dipped into the chrome vats (or at least wrapped in vinyl sheets of the stuff). If that isn’t enough bling, why not throw on some massive wheels as well?
We think this next Camaro will be remembered as a watershed moment in automotive excess. This completely-chromed out muscle car is not only unbearably shiny, but rides on 32-inch Fogiato wheels that give it more ground clearance than a Jeep Wrangler.
Built by 813 Customs out of Tampa, Florida, the King of Bling certainly required a good deal of skill to put together. Throwing 32-inch wheels on a car that leaves the factory with, at most, 21-inch rims requires a lot of custom work to the suspension and body to ensure that it looks proper, and lasts longer than a week on the road. The supercharger was probably added just so this Camaro had enough get-up-and-go to move around on those huge wheels.
And speaking of that body, in case you hadn’t already noticed, its been wrapped entirely in chrome. You can actually see how much work goes into installing these wraps, and it isn’t just the exterior that gets chromed. On the inside, red chrome finish has been applied pretty much every surface, and the rear seats have been completely removed to fit an audio system that might literally kill you with it’s sonic blast.
This is excess to a whole ‘nother level…but if you’re going to go big, you might as well go really big. Can you dig it?
