Now is your chance to own a piece of Evel Knievel history. No, not one of his motorcycles, or one of his crazy jumpsuits, but his 1984 Aston Martin Lagonda equipped with an 8.2-liter Big-Block Chevy V8. Oh, and it comes with the tow-behind coffin trailer he slept in… No Really…
Our friends at Jalopnik brought us this interesting item and pointed out that St. Louis car dealership, MotoeXotica, has the car for sale for $109,900. Which is a big surprise considering the car sold in 2009 at Barrett-Jackson for only $35,200. The increased price is a negotiable figure and the dealership is including Knievel memorabilia, like the bill of sale from when the ownership was transferred from Evel to his son, a toy version of the Lagonda, and a signed print of one of Evel’s paintings.
An Evel Knievel painting you say? Yes, after his fame of jumping over a lot of crazy things, Evel’s career took a nose dive when he beat up an executive with a baseball bat in 1977. Faced with a crumbling career and destroyed image, Kneivel bought the 1984 Aston Martin Lagonda along with a coffin trailer and installed a 500 cubic-inch Big-Block V8 and toured the country sleeping in the trailer and painting landscapes…. no really…who knew?
The car features Rolls-Royce leather seats and a red and white color scheme. Being a full size luxury sedan, it has the technology and gadgets that scream luxury, or what would have been, back in 1984, oh and plus the Big-Block Chevy V8. The cars authenticity has been verified and there are even photos of Evel with the car.
