It has been said that the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. Jacob LaFountaine might disagree with that statement, because the low price of a Hot Wheels die cast Camaro actually landed him a brand spankin’ new 2013 Camaro 2SS convertible. LaFountaine won the Camaro as the grand prize of the “Hot Wheels For Real” sweepstakes put on by Mattel this past fall, and had his new ride delivered to him last week in Helena, Montana.
Now, we know when you watch the video above from Helena’s KXLH, you’ll probably immediately notice that there’s a bit of incorrect information. We don’t want to sound like corrective jerks or anything, but LaFountaine’s Camaro is not the slick “Hot Wheels Special Edition”, but just a nice but very regular 2SS. Also, the reporter says that the “special edition is worth about $7,000 more than a standard model, making it worth around $30,000.” Yes, we know a standard 2013 2SS will cost you way more than $30,000. We think they actually mean “37,000” since it’s a ‘vert. Either way, getting a new Camaro for just the price of the taxes is awesome regardless of what model it is.
LaFountaine tells reporters from Montana’s Beartooth NBC that he is incredibly grateful for the new car. As it turns out, he had just sold his car and winning the new Camaro couldn’t have come at a better time – even if he does have to wait until spring time to cruise around in the SS with the top down.
