A leading manufacturer of airboats for everything from hunting to law enforcement, Alumitech of Orlando, Florida constructs industry quality airboats that range in function. These can vary from a double wide, diesel vessel for drilling to an oil spill control boat with heated cabins.
Likewise, Silver Dollar Boats of Hendrix, Oklahoma builds every marine application from mod Vs and flat bottoms to airboats and work barges. Both boat makers, however, have shown that their boats are just of capable of recreational performance as they are functional.
Today’s featured video gives us a glimpse into the world of marine performance that we rarely get to see. This one is a hodgepodge though, as the worlds of land and water racing combine to form what is apparently an all new motorsport.
These guys have, and our off the wall motoring video of this morning shows exactly how that could be possible. Here we see one of Silver Dollar’s airboats making waves and trails with a massive 540ci big-block pushing the boat up the hill.
It’s something funny to see and it definitely brings smiles to our faces for a Monday morning. The concept in itself of “amphibious” cars has been around forever, and flat bottom racers have been part of the high performance landscape almost as long as hot rods on land.
We can’t help but watching this clip over and over again. It’s awesome!
