The car in this video is a 1970 1/2 Camaro Z/28. That’s a bit of a stretch as there is no 1970 1/2 Camaro parts on the car except maybe an emblem. But the car does get its style from a second gen, so we have to give it that. The body does resemble a very stretched and modified ’70 1/2 though.
Most likely the first thing that you’ll notice is the massive motor sitting between the frame rails. Also noteworthy is the two huge 88mm turbos that boost this Camaro to the moon and back. The engine itself is a Jasiek Racing Engine with a set of CFE heads bolted on and a Liberty Transmission backs the wild motor. Jerry Bickel is the man responsible for building the car.
The video shows a walk around of the car where you can see all the engineering that went into the car. There is a fully caged chassis under the fiberglass shell, with everything else being custom made. A massive set of meaty tires out back keep all that power to the ground.
After the car is fired, the crew is going over the car looking for leaks and making fine changes. The car idles so nicely you could drive it on the street if you wanted, but that’s not the purpose of this car. When the warm-up is complete, the crew lines the car up to go down the track.
The Camaro does a nice smokey burnout and lines up at the starting line. The green light flashes and the throttle hits wide open. Unfortunately, this is just a test run and the driver lets off before making a full pass.
