There are a whole lot of people who have already figured out how they’re going to fit in seeing a movie on July 1st, along with their other responsibilities that day. That Michael Bay has released the third trailer for his latest Transformers movie has only heightened the anticipation.
Perhaps after seeing the first weekend box office results for Furious Five, Bay may be getting another trailer together, but for now, this is the one we have. Certainly, this version reveals a lot more of the plot and action than was seen in previous versions.
As well, Bumblebee fans may sense a better role for the yellow autobot in this movie, if his increased presence in the trailer is any indication. In Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft that is hidden on the Moon. An epic race against the Decepticons ensues, to reach it and learn its secrets, which could turn the tide in the Transformers’ final battle.
We can expect a blockbuster production in this third installment, which director Michael Bay has said will be the last. Filming started in May 2010, with shoot locations in Chicago, Florida, Moscow and Washington, DC.
It was at the latter location, last October, that a Washington DC Metropolitan Police K9 Unit SUV struck the Camaro that portrays Bumblebee in the film, during a chase scene. The K9 unit was not part of the filming. The movie will release in several European and Asian countries beginning on June 29, reaching North America on July 1.
