Let’s say you have a quick car and it is known to dominate everything that it lines up with. When you pull up next to someone at the drag strip, the opposition probably has a feeling that they’re about to get smoked.
Now, imagine pulling up next to the same person on the strip, except this time with a pretty average-looking SUV, and walking away from them like they’re standing still. The look on your opponent’s face will probably be priceless. That is exactly what the experience is like when driving this Procharged Trailblazer SS built by Race Proven Motorsports.
How does this boat of a vehicle manage to surprise unwary competitors? It’s simple really; all it takes is gobs of horsepower and torque. In order to attain the proper numbers to get the SUV down the track in a timely manner, the original LS2 was replaced with a 408 cubic inch block which is paired with an F1R Procharger. Combine that with a Holley Hi-Ram intake and LS3 heads and this TBSS is taking out competitors left and right.
Even though the track preparation on Friday nights (as shown in this video) isn’t as up to par as Saturday test n’ tune, the Blazer is still able to clock in just over 10-second quarter mile times all while getting a bit sideways off the line. That leaves us to wonder what would happen if the 4000+ pound truck was able to gain traction as it shot out of the hole.
