Everything is bigger in Texas, including hailstorms and dedication to saving a fifth-generation Camaro from the damaging effects of pelting sky-ice. According to Jalopnik, the guys TeamHall and Nass went the extra mile to protect a 2011 Camaro SS convertible (that was on loan after the NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway) from the storm.
Like much of tornado alley, the weather outside of Dallas, Texas can change from peaceful to destructive in little time. The extreme conditions caught those responsible for keeping the Camaro safe a little off guard. Without having time to move the Camaro into the garage, the quick thinking individuals grabbed a kiddie pool, a couple air mattresses and some cardboard to shelter the SS from the storm.
Initially the storm started slinging small pea-sized stones, then progressed to larger quarter-sized projectiles and kept going from there. Using a piece of cardboard to shield himself from the chunks of ice, the cameraman/Camaro guardian continues to document the drastic measures used to protect the SS from harm; meanwhile his personal fourth-generation Camaro endured the brunt of the storm. These individuals took their vow to return the Camaro back unscathed very seriously; one of the guys ended up with bloody and bruised hands as a result of the storm. Thanks to creative nature of redneck engineering, the loaner SS was saved from severe hail damage.
