When you think of a high-performance Chevy, you usually think of muscle cars, pro-touring beasts and the iconic Corvette sports car. As we found out from YouTube, there is another kind of high-performance Chevy – one that hit the slopes of Michigan’s Shanty Creek Resorts just a couple weeks ago. While this truck may not be your typical muscle machine, it certainly has enough muscle to keep anyone entertained, not to mention enough torue to conquer a snow and mud covered hill in just a matter of seconds. Check out this awesomely powerful machine in the video above.
This video was taken at the Schuss Mountain Snow Challenge that took place at Shanty Creek Resorts in Bellaire, Michigan March 31st and April 1st. Although there was a lack of snow for the annual hill climb this year, event crew members worked for several days moving snow from other areas and making the white powder so that the event could still take place.
With just enough of the white stuff on the ground, the event went on, pinning powerful dirt and 4×4 vehicles against one another to see who could conquer the hill the fastest. Among the fiercest competitors was a machinist and fabricator by the name of Tom Anthony. For those of you keeping track, this is also the young man who owns the “Damn Black Chevy” truck that has become a YouTube sensation that we featured here last week.
In true Anthony fashion, this truck is just as bad as his black beast. Based on an S10 pickup, the new truck mastered the slick slopes of the Snow Challenge like it was nobody’s business.
And yes, a number of runs up the hill were captured from afar and via up-close and personal with the faithful GoPro recording systems.
By the end of the challenge, Anthony secured himself a semi-finalist position in the “Any Tire” category, being beat out by Jeremy Zadonia and Todd Blysma.
If Anthony was a semi-finalist, there’s no telling what the other guys’ runs were like. Sure, Anthony’s truck isn’t typically what you see around these parts, but we are definitely hooked. With that being said, you can guarantee we’ll be watching for more videos of this sick hill-climb truck to pop up on YouTube just like its big brother!
