Video: Possibly The World’s Highest Horsepower 55 Chevy!

We wanted to bring you this video of what most would call the world’s highest horsepower street legal Chevy shoe box ever built. Many of you have seen this car in the past, but it’s always nice to recap on some of the most incredible builds that we have come across. There’s a lot to be said about Rod Hadfield, his talent envisions what the majority of us can only dream about creating.

[1]Take a look at the video, it’s part of an episode on “Dream Car Garage,” [2] with Peter Klutt, the owner of Legendary Motorcars [3]. Usually at the end of each show Peter gets to drive a muscle car and shares his feedback on that experience. This time he is in for a whole new perspective on what it’s like to drive a 3000 hp 55 Chevy.

Owner and builder of this wild creation, is none other than Rod Hadfield, a well-known Hot Rod builder over in Australia. Although he devoted most of his livelihood to converting American cars to right-hand drive, he is a very talented fabricator and builder.

It was his vision to put a 3000 hp V-12 Rolls-Royce Merlin engine in a 55 Chevy. This is the identicle engine that formally powered the Miss Budweiser hydroplane in the Unlimited class. It’s also the same type of engine that powered the early British Spitfire, and P-51 Mustang warplanes.

At a cost of just over $1 million, you can surely see what a true work of art this is. So watch the video and enjoy it, remember it took five years just to complete the frame, imagine the time, patience, and determination it took just to see a project of this magnitude completed. With that said… Don’t give up on your dream’s guys, get out in that garage!
