Nobody wants to experience a rollover event in a vehicle, whether it be in the event of a wreck or during off-road racing. The fuel system wizards at Holley Performance Products have developed an ingenious solution to prevent the chance of fuel spilling out during a rollover and starting a fire.

By cutting off the fuel flow from your carburetor’s vent tubes, the Vent Tube Spill Reduction Valve is a cost-effective solution that provides safety for racers in many different forms of racing.

During standard (right-side-up) operation, the valve’s internal valve ball rests at the bottom of a channel, allowing fuel vapors to easily escape the top of the valve assembly.

In upside-down mode, the ball travels to the opposite end of the internal channel, stopping fuel flow (and vapors) in their tracks and preventing them from flowing out of the carburetor and onto hot engine parts. They don’t completely prevent the leakage of fuel from an upside-down carburetor, but as you’ll see in the accompanying video, the torrent is slowed to a trickle.

In addition, it reduces fuel slosh from the vent tube during hard launches or stops, especially effective in drag racing and marine racing applications – as well as on rough terrain like that experienced by off-road racers.

The valves offer simple installation – a compression nut fitting on the bottom side allows them to be installed right over the existing carburetor vent tubes, giving the end user a bit of safety margin in the event of an on-track (or off-road) issue.
