Taking a stock truck and jumping it at high speed is just asking for trouble. C10-Trucks.com found this little gem of a video showing when a guy takes his stock 1995 Chevy truck and decides to jump it. At the time it probably sounded like an awesome idea, but it turned out to be a bad one.
The video is short, but we see the truck off in the distance, gaining speed for the jump. He comes barreling down the road, and his friends start stepping away in fear of what’s about to happen. He approaches the jump and keeps his foot in it, then hits the jump hard. The truck violently gets airborne, but then things turn for the worse. The problem is with the long wheel base of the truck and the short take off on the jump, the rear end of the truck gets flipped up.
The truck lands on its grill, then completes a roll, landing on the roof. The horn is stuck in the on position as his buddies begin to run towards him, trying to see if he’s okay. “Amazingly I walked away from this crash with only a few stitches in my lip and a slightly fractured nose,” stated the driver afterwards. While he only had minor injuries, the truck was toast and wouldn’t live to see another day.
