The world of autocross is all about precision cornering and meticulous throttle control. Posted by Socal Speedzone, we see a LS-powered Chevrolet S10 truck drift its way around a course at the 2015 Street Machine and Muscle Car Nationals in Pomona, California.

Held for only its second year, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Street Machine and Muscle Car Nationals brought car enthusiasts together in sunny Southern California. The event features an autocross competition and car show awards for muscle cars and street rods.

Held on March 14-15, 2015 at the Fairplex, there were plenty of burnouts, show girls, and sleek rides to please the crowd. Sponsors for the event include Lucas Oil, Hotchkis Sport Suspension, Comp Cams, FAST, Pioneer Car Audio, and Magnaflow.

However, here we have a custom Black Widow Exhaust Chevy S10 that has plenty of horsepower to turn over the pavement. With an LS-swapped V8 engine under this small Chevy truck, the tires never stop spinning on this S10.

The track may have been small but the S10 slid its way through, even into a couple cones. Playing it off nicely, the driver of the S10 performed numerous donuts until the cone poked out from the undercarriage.

Coasting through the course for another hot lap, the S10 drifted around with reckless abandonment. Smoking the tires essentially the entire lap, the S10 kept its tires hot through the lap.

However, what’s clear is that the LS engine under the hood is more than enough power for this truck. The combination of a light truck and a big motor is a lethal formula for no road grip whatsoever.
