These days a lot of the focus in the LSx community has been on the brand-new Camaro and everything that can be done with the awesome LS3 engine. However, there are still plenty of fourth-generation Camaro owners out there with more than enough money and wherewithal to take their cars to the next level. We haven’t forgotten about you guys by any means!

Jalopnik came across this video from High Tech Corvettes that shows a purported 1,800 horsepower Camaro situated on the dyno before its debut at the bi-annual Texas Mile event.

The power comes from two huge turbochargers mounted to what must be a very heavily modified motor, with the work done by the one and only Late Model Racecraft. LMR is one of the preeminent makers of horsepower via the LSx engines. Even so, 1,800 horsepower is no walk in the park, and this isn’t just some drag racing car either. It’s been built for the Texas Mile, a twice-a-year-event that gives racers a chance to go all-out to achieve the highest speed possible in just a single mile.

The event is open to all comers, from motorcycles to jalopys to Lamborghinis, and speeds as high as 260 mph have been achieved (in a mile!) This particular Camaro managed to lay 1,808 horsepower down to the wheels, and over 1,300 ft-lbs of torque. With all that power on tap, we think this Camaro should be able to break into the 200 mph zone with ease. But how fast do you think this badass Camaro can go?
