[1]Announced on June 26th, 2014, Chevrolet is now offering Stingray School [2] to new Canadian C7 buyers so they can get the most out of their new ride.
The Stingray School is put on by none other than legendary racer, Ron Fellows. Held at Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club [3] in Pahrump, Nevada, the course accommodates drivers of all skill levels. The C7 has so much more technology than the C6 ever did, so it’s understandable that Chevrolet would like to educate their customers about all of the systems.
“Through the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School, they’ll learn to make the most of its technologies and delve deeper into the Corvette’s capabilities, resulting in a more exciting and fulfilling driving experience,” explained Tim Mahoney, chief marketing officer, global Chevrolet.
The Stingray School isn’t free, but new Canadian C7 owners can take the two-day program for $1,000 – a $1,500 discount from the standard rate of the course. The discount is only good for one year after the initial purchase of the car and is only good for the original owner of the car.
[4]Spring Mountain’s 2.2-mile road course is where the new C7 owners will get to learn the feel of the car under three instruction levels, from mild to wild. Participants aren’t required to bring their own Corvettes, as it is pretty far from the Canadian Border – the driving school has a fleet of C7 Stingrays for the new owners to learn on.
“Mind speed and decision-making are key elements in the high-performance world, and our car control exercises and on-track training will help drivers improve their ability to process information quickly and accurately, resulting in a better coordination of eyes, hands, and feet to improve their driving skill. It’s great fun – and drivers will definitely challenge their limits to find the limits of the new Stingray,” explained Fellows.
