When you hear the term rolling burnout, what do you picture? More than likely it is something along the lines of a sports car driving down a stretch of pavement while letting the rear wheels get a bit squirrelly, creating some tire smoke. The majority of the time, that image would be absolutely correct, but as one YouTube video shows us, that’s not how one driver interpreted the idea in Norway. The video is below.
The video features Ole Johnny B. Pettersen driving his ‘70 pro-touring Camaro Z28 at the Artic Circle Raceway for Sommertreff 2009. Complete with an Procharged 8.1L Chevy big block, the car is a beast on the track, especially when Pettersen starts unleashing some of its power in the form of rolling burnouts. These aren’t normal rolling burnouts, however. They are high-speed, drop into tire spinning in the middle of traffic kind of burnouts.
While lapping his fellow racers, Pettersen does everything he can to have as much fun as possible on the track. On several occasions, Pettersen causes his car to burnout right in the middle of the track while still maintaining a decent driving speed. With a camera inside the car and another outside, you can live all the action of these crazy burnouts.
Obviously, Pettersen had some serious confidence in order to pull off these burnouts in the midst of a field full of other drivers all while maintaining a high speed. Although crazy, we like his style! Check out Pettersen’s crazy driving in the video below and tell us what you think about the “stunts.”
