Are you looking for a classic pro-touring muscle car to spend sunny days driving along the coast with? How about a car to take to shows and cruises? Then we may just have found the car for you! As you’ve probably noticed, we like finding amazing cars listed at Mecum auctions and our latest find is no different. This pro-touring, ‘70 Chevelle SS convertible is sure to gain gobs of attention while providing a fun ride for its new owner.
After undergoing a complete restoration three years ago, only 2,500 miles have been put on the Chevelle. It comes equipped with a new crate 454cui engine and high-performance 700R4 transmission- putting the muscle in this muscle car. Add-ons on this car include an Edelbrock high-rise intake manifold, Mallory ignition, Demon carburetor, dual fans and an aluminum radiator- all for added performance. Heavy-duty axels, chrome sway bars, a 12-bolt positraction rear end, Edelbrock high-performance shocks and Global West suspension make certain that this Chevelle is ready for any race competition you throw at it. Increased stopping power comes from four-wheel disc brakes.
The Chevelle has many creature comforts including power windows, locks and truck, as well as a tilt steering wheel and factory air conditioning. It even comes with an Alpine stereo connected to a subwoofer and amplifier in the trunk. To top it all off, the Chevelle sits on original-style wheels with new BF Goodrich tires.
If you’re interested in bidding on this fine pro-touring machine, be sure to attend the Daytime Auction in Monterey, California. The Chevelle will cross the auction block at 11:30a.m. on Saturday August 20th. We hope to see this car out at autocross competitions and cruises in the near future with its new owner.
