Most of us have fond memories of going to prom. If we were lucky, we had a cool ride to arrive in style at the defining moment of our high school tenure. Mine was a ’69 Mercury Cougar without a radio, or even much of an interior. But it was the coolest ride at prom that night (even if it needed a shove to get going on the ride home.)
Had somebody showed up in this Bumblebee Camaro limousine though, I’d have had to hand to the coolest car crown to him. Jalopnik came across this Bumblebee-style Camaro limo that is available for rent out of Van Nuys, California.
Kids these days are all about their video games and iPhones, and missed out on the awesome Transformers toys of our childhood. However, even we must begrudgingly admit that there’s something nerdelciously cool about the Transformers theme inside and out of this stretched Camaro. With room for a dozen prom geeks, the doors don’t just open; they open with style. Lambo doors for the driver, gullwing doors for the lucky passengers. And just in time for prom season. Convenient, that.
Of course this car could only make sense in California, and there are plenty of DVD screens all around the mirrored walls and ceilings. Prominently featured is the Transformer’s Autobot symbol (poor Decepticons), and while there is a third Transformers feature film on the way, kids these days have shorter attention spans than ever before. In a year, nobody is going to want to be seen near this thing. Then again, GM has sold quite a few Transformers Edition Camaros, so maybe there’s still an older market for this niche limo.
