General Motors will debut two new models at the Chicago Auto Show; with one of the two being based on the Camaro platform, the rumor mill is in full swing. Camaro5 members were buzzing once the announcement was made.
According to CarScoop, GM is going to make enthusiasts wait until February 9, 2011 for the opening of show before anything more is said. Mark Reuss, President of General Motors North America, refused to give any specifics on the new Camaro-based vehicle other than to say, “It will be fun.”
Could the Trans Am be resurrected despite the death of Pontiac? Perhaps another variant of the Camaro could be released? With the knowledge that the Z/28 will return, Camaro nuts are already chomping at the bit. The survival of the Buick line could mean luxury performance coupe or possibly a convertible on the horizon.
Where are the paparazzi when you need them? These guys can manage to catch supermodel picking her nose on a yacht in the south of France, but there are no spy shots of the new “Camaro” based car as of yet. Unless a starlet crashes her BMW into the GM hauler, it looks like we will be left to wait until Wednesday.
