So many times in the classic car world, we see these beauties that sit in garages or shops with no hope of ever being unleashed on the open road. But we hardly see one that is driven day in and day out. But according to The Sun Chronicle, a Attleboro Massachusetts man is diving his dream car, and doesn’t see an end in sight. “If you already have the car you want, why trade it in?” said Richard Bracker, owner of a pristine ’66 454 Chevelle SS that has over 422,000 miles on it!

The article states that Bracker purchased the car back in 1969 and drove it regularly with the stock 369 before upgrading it to the 454 big block that it supports now. “Bracker bought the Chevelle from an Attleboro man in 1969 and drove it back and forth to Boston for a number of years. He’s replaced fenders, doors and mechanical parts, but the car is still mostly authentic. The current monster motor replaced the car’s original 396-cubic-inch engine some time ago.”

The car apparently has over 500 drag passes on it, and will still run in the 11’s even with over 400,000 miles on the Chevelle. “Every Wednesday after work we used to drive up to New England Dragway,” said Bracker.

But what’s the car like to drive around town? “Actually, it’s a brute to drive,” said Bracker. The chevelle doesn’t have many of the luxuries that we are spoiled by today like power steering or power brakes. But Becker put it best, “I wouldn’t want it any different,”

We always love coming across these types of stories where someone doesn’t hide away a beauty like this, but actually puts it out on the street for all to see. Keep it up Bracker!
