All things Chevrolet will converge on the small town of Carlisle, between June 23 through 25 of 2017, so make plans now! We’re sure you can find more than one aspect of the event that will truly make the trip to Carlisle memorable. This will be a must-attend show for everyone next June!

Celebrate 50 Years Of The F-Body

In 1967, when the Camaro and Firebird made their public debut. These two vehicles from different GM branches shared common DNA – like the F-Body platform. They both offered offered great performance at a reasonable price, and have become some of the most sought-after performance cars ever built.

This year, the Chevrolet Nationals will celebrate these two iconic cars with a 50th Anniversary showcase in Building T. You will find cars from all generations that will range from bone stock restos to fully customized street bruisers – every car is welcome to be part of this milestone gathering.

See The First Camaro Ever Built

If you have never seen what i s arguably the most important Camaro ever built, then you’re in for a treat at the show. The very first one – Camaro N100001, the first of 49 pilot cars built by Chevrolet at the Norwood Assembly Plant will be there. Camaro number 001 was used by Chevrolet as a display vehicle at trade and auto shows, and came equipped with a special 110-volt static lighting display and Grenada Gold paint, a 230ci straight-six engine, whitewall tires, and a push-button radio.

1967-Camaro-Vin-100001-0When the Camaro was retired from the show circuit, it made its way to Ayers High Performance Chevrolet in Yukon, Oklahoma, to serve as a showroom attraction. Ayers Chevrolet eventually sold the car, which then passed through several owners and even became a drag car at one point in its life.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see Camaro number 001 in Building T.

A V12 Camaro?

Have you ever heard of a Camaro with V12 engine? If so, there is a good possibility that you have seen this car in magazines or on television, but now you can see it for yourself. The engine was designed by Matt and Shane Corish of V12LS.com, and the Australian-based team debuted this car at SEMA last fall. Check out this car in Building T alongside the Camaro and Firebird 50-year display cars.

Nova’s Galore

The National Nostalgic Nova Club will create a special meet within the Chevrolet Nationals show field. The inaugural Novas at Carlisle “show within a show” will be held throughout the event weekend. All fans of the Nova, regardless of club affiliation, are welcome to be part of this huge Nova show field. Nova classes have been expanded for 2017, and club members are working on recruiting some especially nice cars to display under the north portion of our pavilion. All Novas will be parked in the blue show field beside Building Y, and along one of the main avenues of the fairgrounds.

Not only will there be special display cars, but Novas at Carlisle will also feature several seminars geared towards Nova tech and history. A special highlight for 2017 will be a nod towards 50 years of the 1967. This is a great new feature for fans of Chevy’s cool compact, so be sure to come out and join your fellow Nova nuts in June!

The Cosworth Returns

Often overlooked, the Vega was a true sporty compact that even has some performance roots – enter the Cosworth Vega. This year, the Cosworth Vega will be front and center at the Carlisle Chevrolet Nationals in June. Produced for only two years (1975 and 1976) in Lordstown, Ohio, and priced at just $900 less than the Corvette of its time, the Cosworth Vega was a popular subcompact, four-passenger vehicle that carried Chevy’s aluminum four-cylinder engine with the cylinder heads developed by Cosworth Engineering.

You can check out these miniature marvels of mayhem up close, as a few dozen of them make an appearance. The cars will be cruising around, as Round up 38 will go for a cruise Friday, June 23 from the Fairgrounds to Gettysburg and back, via some of the region’s most scenic back rounds.

Going Fast – With Corners

This June, prepare to buckle in and hang on as the UMI Performance team members will be giving attendees *free autocross ride-alongs throughout the weekend. These thrill rides are open to anyone attending the Chevrolet Nationals, and you can even ride more than once. Just visit the UMI tent in the north field, sign the waiver, and buckle up for the ride of a lifetime.
