LMC’s 1955 Chevy 3100 “Baby B” 5 Window Truck

LMC Truck’s President, Becky Hanrahan, practices what she preaches and the result is a complete rundown of her pet project truck, completed in stages for the world to see. Hanrahan’s 1955 first series Chevy 3100 truck was covered in 33 online updates, complete with photos from each session.

The build began with the crew doing the paperwork and initial assessment of the project build. Each Wednesday following that first day, the LMC crew posted weekly updates.

Hanrahan’s plan was to build the truck to her specifications and use the Chevy as a daily driver until her grandson is old enough to drive. When young Carter gets his license, the truck will become his. (We secretly want Becky to adopt us).

The project was a little rough in the beginning.

The truck was disassembled for a complete frame off restoration and the crew began to discover the full story of the old truck. Refurbished with LMC Truck parts, the old Chevy started to fall into place. For the powerplant, Becky decided to use an HT 383 Chevy Performance crate engine.

No detail was overlooked as the truck was restored to better than new condition.

The truck got the boxed frame treatment, along with a lot of metal work to turn it into a serious rolling chassis.Once the suspension was complete and the body work was painted, the mill was re-installed and fired up. The LMC Truck crew shot video of the momentous occasion.

The finished product is worthy of daily driver status for anyone, including the President of the company.

Shortly after the engine was mounted in the bay and fired up, the crew finished the project build and delivered the freshly rebuilt vintage Chevy truck to the LMC Truck’s headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas.
