When looking for your ultimate muscle car, it is hard, if not impossible, to find one built and customized exactly how you want it. This is exactly what one Pro-Touring.com forum member found out when looking for his ultimate second-gen Camaro. That is why, after looking at a few cars, he decided to buy a car to build- and we must say, his build is going to be phenomenal.
The forum member, only known to us as Streetking, was looking for an early ‘70s Camaro that was already built to his specifications. Unfortunately, he was unable to find the perfect car so he bought a ‘71 Camaro from a friend and is moving forward on the build of his dreams.
While the forum member hasn’t started the build, he has a great base car to work with. The Camaro has all of its original body panels except one front fender and came with all of its original paperwork and Protect-O-Plate. The forum member’s friend had planned on turning the car into a pro-touring classic, so it came with a DSE front subframe when the forum member bought the car. It is an original unique blue on blue car.
Although the car looks amazing how it is, in the tradition of extensive builds, the forum member is going to be changing a lot on the Camaro. He plans to do mini-tubs and put an RS front end on the car, as well as a full DSE suspension, Baer brakes and a four-point bar. To power this bad boy, the forum member plans to put an LS7 in his Camaro matted to a T-56 transmission. There are still components that the forum member has not decided on for this build.
In addition to the performance and minor body modifications, the forum member plans to repaint the car to the demise of some other Pro-Touring.com members. The Camaro owner plans to paint his finished ride silver with black stripes. We assume he will change the interior to match some how as well.
Although the build hasn’t really started yet, it is already proving to be impressive. We look forward to watching for more updates on this project and can’t wait to see it when the build is complete.
