For 2015, Holley is looking to shake things up in the enthusiast realm, particularly that of hot rods and drag racing. A recent announcement declared that the Bowling Green, Kentucky-based company had become the official sponsor of the Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals, a drag racing affair set to take place at the local Beech Bend Raceway on August 14th and 15th.
Focused around the landmark years of Chevrolet’s V8-powered cars–1955, 1956, and 1957–attendees can expect two things: that the cars will look stunning, and that they will go all-out in the spate of races happening over the course of the two-day event. Bel Airs, gassers, convertibles, and more will duke it out across five different classes: the heads-up DOT Stocks, Junior Stocks, and Nostalgia/Gassers, as well as the bracket Junior Eliminators and Top Eliminators.
“We’re excited that yet another national event is coming to our hometown of Bowling Green, and we’re excited be able to sponsor the drag racing portion of the Tri-Five Nationals,” said Bill Tichenor of Holley. “Holley carbs have powered more drag race winners than all others combined, and we enjoy it when our Holley team members can see the parts they make in action.”
If you’re looking to throw your hat in the ring and compete, the entry fee will cost you $100. It includes admission for two, a pit parking pass, and racer golf cart pass as well. Campers and RVs are charged an additional $65 for the weekend. The gates open at 8:00 a.m. on both days.
So bust out the calendar and save up some extra dough for this sweet showdown. It’s sure to be a crowdpleaser. And don’t forget to check out Holley’s website and Facebook page to stay on top of what else is hot and fresh right now.
