Of all the interesting trends we’re exposed to via the internet these days, one of ’em that seems to have gained traction is declaring three things that one is grateful for on social media. It’s a little “whoo whoo” and a tad awkward to engage in this bit of public “Kumbaya” but a lot folks have thrown privacy to the wind and jumped on the bandwagon. With that in mind, the gang here at LSXTV will join in and put out our three automotive thanks to the universe. Here goes…

We are grateful for General Motors. Seems like they can’t get a break with the press, the headwinds of changing times or naysayers, yet their current lineup is arguably the best in decades.  Thank you Mark Reuss, Ed Welburn and Tadge Juechter.

We are grateful for Chevrolet/LS performance. 1 out of 4 performance cars sold in North America is a Chevrolet. The SS, the C7 intro, and the endless supply of Camaro variants has been a treat to behold. Not to mention the success of Corvette racing. What a time to be a Chevy/LS enthusiast.

Last but not least, we are grateful that anyone in the world can have a high tech, GM LS motor delivered to their doorstep or garage in a matter of days. For car guys and gals that’s enough to make us want to fall to our knees and shout out thank you to the gasoline gods.

Check out the “cheat sheet” of all LS crate motors available at GM Parts Online. They will happily sell you a gonzo GM V-8 of your choosing. Just fill out the form, pay up and wait for the crate. And what a cornucopia to choose from. From a nice little 320 HP 327 (5.3 liter) workhorse, to a 505 HP 427 (7.0 liter) LS7 or a 770 HP race-ready LS454R (7.4 liter). There’s a myriad of other mills to choose from as well.  Put ’em into service as is or trick ’em out with your own hot rod tweaks. Either way, never in the history of autodom has such a dazzling selection of big factory horsepower been merely a mouse click away.

And that’s something to be grateful for.
