We think it is safe to assert that most people who visit our little corner of the Internet are auto enthusiasts. Hell, we’d even go so far as to say most of our fans love cars. Sure, cars might frustrate us with their finicky ways, but they also fill us with pride and happiness. We might have even shed a tear or two watching a wrecked lover hauled away on a tow truck.
But love…love can be dangerous too, and some people may love their cars a little too much. People like 29-year old Gary King, who the Palm Beach Post reports is accused of pointing a gun at his pregnant wife’s head after she hit his 2011 Camaro with a wrench. That’s a bit of an overreaction, don’t you think?
According to King’s unnamed wife, the whole argument stemmed from King arriving home apparently drunk late at night. He spilled red wine on the carpet of their home, causing the wife to jump on to his laptop and smash it (very mature reaction to spilled wine). When King laughed it off, the wife went straight for the jugular, threatening to hit his precious Camaro with a lug wrench. When she followed through on the threat, King allegedly pointed a gun at her head, and the two then struggled in the garage before he left.
Keep in mind, this woman is 2-months pregnant.
King, who was arrested when cops found him driving around in his Camaro, admits to pointing the gun at his wife’s head but assures cops he removed the magazine and chambered the round. Because that makes pointing a gun at a pregnant woman OK?
Look, we get it, we really do. We all love our cars. But you’ve got to draw the line somewhere; no car is worth dying OR killing for. Period. What the hell is wrong with people these days?
