We rarely post ebay auctions as news items because of the short duration of the auction but this one was so unique that it caught our eye and was worthy of sharing. We found this mint Arizona Chevelle, complete with numbers matching BBC, for a tick under $40k.
Yeah, we know… forty grand is a whole grip of dollars, but you just don’t find a Chevelle in this shape very often. Described as “1970 Chevelle SS, Never Rusted Arizona car, 396 – 4 Speed.”
We looked through the details and matched it to the description and specs listed. This appears to be one of those rare “unicorn” finds.
The car is listed as a 1970 Chevelle Super Sport that has been an Arizona car. The seller says that he has the title to prove the Arizona car claim. With only 61,354 original miles, which equates to 1,394.5 miles a year for the past 44-years since new. This brings up the question, “Who only drives a musclecar less than 1,500 miles a year?”
The seller claims that the original numbers matching 396 big-block Chevy and original four-speed transmission are in the car. If you aren’t sold by this point, consider this: the car sports the original colors which is a rare white with saddle color combination. All the body panels are original. This is as pristine as they come except for one repaint which was done professionally. The seller makes a point of saying, “No Bondo.”
The seller also adds a few extra notes to wet your appetite, “Very few numbers matching big-block cars left. Runs and drives like new. Body is laser straight.”

It appears that no offer has been made on the car in the two days that it has been up for bid but it does have 13 watchers. With five-days remaining, we expect to see at least one offer to be made from those 13-watchers. If the car is all that the seller claims it is, there should be one more happy Chevelle owner in the world by this time next week.
