In the late 80’s and early 90’s, the Big Three found themselves on the losing side in the war for the hearts of young Americans. Specifically, the sport compact market came to be dominated by import brands like Honda and Nissan as America turned out terrible tuners like the Ford Probe and Dodge Shadow.
One of the most popular compact sports cars of the era was the Acura Integra. But today’s eBay Find of the Day does away with the Integra’s front-wheel drive and four-cylinder engine in favor of rear-wheel drive and a 6.5 liter big-block Chevy V8.
Yes, you read that right. What we have here is a unique 1994 Acura Integra which has had a 396 Chevy V8 dropped into the engine bay. Topped by an 8-71 supercharger, it’s no wonder that this motor doesn’t fit under the stock hood of an Integra. Backing the big-block is a TH350 transmission with a 3000 stall converter.
The Integra is remarkably clean, and features a fully-custom back-half to fit the new rear-drive setup. But the interior is slick-yet-simple, sporting a custom dash and roll cage and looking like a lot of fun to drive to local car shows. Alas, bidding stalled at $19,000, and the BBC Integra failed to sell. How much would you pay for this one-of-a-kind import?
