For the life of us, sometimes we just can’t figure out what will and won’t sell on eBay. We followed the auction of this ’71 Chevelle wagon recently and were shocked, nay, we were disgusted to see that not a single bid was placed on it. Sure, it’s not a ’70 LS6 numbers matching Chevelle with a 4-speed, but this baby has some serious potential! Plus, what we like about it even more is that it’s a nice solid southern car that is still being used as regular old transportation.

It has a solid 350 that doesn’t leak and a recently rebuilt 700R4 automatic transmission. It’d be a great car for anyone that wants to cruise through a Good Guys show in to have, but it’s not without it’s flaws. Perhaps that’s why it didn’t sell.

To begin, the owner reports that that killer stance has come with a price. Someone chopped the coils to get it down into the weeds, and didn’t compensate with anything to help keep the car from bottoming out.

The owner says that it “rides a little bouncy,” but hey, we can live with that. Perhaps he was a little too truthful in admitting that 3 of the 4 tires are half way gone, and that the gas gauge and speedo aren’t exactly accurate.

That shouldn’t scare a true car guy away, but you never know. He also mentioned that the air conditioning works but blows “cool not cold.” Again, we’re not car salesman, but there is probably a better way to phrase that!
