Things are bad when this monstrosity of a Corvette sells for what this guys is asking for. Yeah, you read right, $300,000 dollars. I mean, times are tough and inflation is getting pretty bad, but we’re still talking about over a quarter million dollars for a bastardized ’80 Stingray. This once was a limp-wristed, underpowered third generation Corvette to begin with, but now its even…GAH!
Found over on eBay, the online auction that has done to fool saps into thinking their worthless junk is worth a mint, this ‘Vette lists very little precious detail, which is conspicuous given the ludicrous asking price. Other than listing that it’s one-of-five ’80 4-door Corvettes built for “GMC and customer sales.” Thankfully, we know that this mutant was built by California Custom Coach, who extended the frame and added the back seat along with t-top roof panels (classy). Jay Leno is rumored to have owned one at one time, which means little given that Leno has owned everything at one time or another.
Thankfully, this anything-but-little-red-Corvette was the last one built. Powered by a small block 350 with just 20,000 miles on the odometer, this ‘Vette is backed by a 3-speed automatic. But now is not the time to doddle. If you love this as much as we hate it, the eBay auction ends TODAY, December 22. Moreover, its worth noting that this is at least the second time the Corvette has been listed on eBay at $300,000. Although this diluted seller is confident that someone will pick up this 4-seat Corvette for the lamebrain asking price, take into consideration that other 4-door ‘Vettes sell for less than $12,000.
