The Buick Grand National has made a name for itself as an iconic performance car. Stock or not, these odd-ball cars have impressed us in movies and on the track, and they’re certainly crowd favorites at local events. While we don’t see them very often, they never fail to catch our eye when we do spot one and this one is no different.

Case in point, as we found out from Pro-Touring.com, the ‘87 Grand National in the video above is actually for sale on eBay. As you can see, this isn’t your typical Grand National. This bad boy is actually powered by a blown Chevy big block and makes on hell of a street and strip car.

The Buick Grand National features a 468ci big-block with an 8-71 Blower from Blower Drive Service and dual 950cfm 4150 blower carburetors. The menacing engine also makes use of Dart Pro 1 aluminum heads, Eagle rods, 8.5:1 JE pistons, a COMP Cams roller camshaft, stud girdles, roller rockers and ARP bolts.

As if that isn’t enough to burn some serious rubber, the car is also backed by a 250-shot nitrous dual plate system with fogger nozzles, dual purge kit and LED lights. The Grand National is fueled by a Barry Grant fuel system.

To push all the power that the blown engine creates to the ground, the car is equipped with a “bullet proof” TH400 transmission strapped to a narrowed Ford 9-inch rearend. A four-link suspension system with coilovers makes sticking to the ground a bit easier, while AutoMeter gauges and a CD player with iPod connection gives the Grand National a few creature comforts.

According to the eBay ad, the rear half of the car has been tubbed, giving the next owner an even lighter ride to throw around under the big-block power.

Add that to the engine refresh just 50 miles ago, and you’ve got yourself a one-of-a-kind potent machine. Unfortunately there is not a “Buy It Now” price listed on eBay for those of you looking to get an idea what the car may go for.

However, the seller does mention in the car’s information that there is over $65,000 in the Grand National by way of parts with receipts to document it.

The eBay lot runs through April 15^th so it is hard to tell what kind of price the car may actually bring, although we’re fairly certain that the reserve is set quite high on this pro-touring beast. So if you’re interested in bidding, get your party hat on because it may be a wild ride!
