During these tough economic times, companies are becoming increasingly resourceful when it comes to saving money. For example, John Watson Chevrolet decided to make use of a company resource to begin the remodeling at his facility. According to Autoblog, the dealership enlisted four Silverado trucks (presumably from the pre-owned lot) and used them to assist in the demolition process. After all, that’s what a truck is for, right?

Each of the four Silverado’s were carefully tethered to four of the supports holding up the roof and once the loose nuts behind the steering wheels were given the signal the building came down thanks to the pulling power from those pickups.

As Autoblog points out, the overall guilty pleasure of destroying something is still satisfying. Either way, the gratuitous tire smoke and intentional (and legal) destruction of property made for a great video that should garner plenty of attention from the web. Perhaps when the remodel is complete this little PR stunt will bring in some additional customers to John Watson Chevrolet.

With this in mind, would anyone feel comfortable purchasing one of these trucks from the dealer’s lot if they are inventory vehicles? Anyway, the video does manage to entertain while providing potential buyers with proof of GM’s dedication to building a quality truck. Hopefully, a follow up video will test the Silverado’s stump pulling abilities if there is landscaping work in the near future.
