Are you a fan of the third-generation Camaro? If not, you’re not alone. Although some of us are dedicated through and through to F-bodies of all generations, the third-gen is traditionally seen as the least appealing. However, third-gen Camaros can in fact be cool. An example of such a third-gen was recently added to the cars being sold at the St. Charles Mecum Auction in September. Who knows, this ‘83 Camaro Z28 could be the car that changes your opinion of the third-gen.
The Camaro up for auction is not your run-of-the-mill third-gen. It has been modified with a 454cui V8 big block. It also has an automatic transmission, new exhaust, power windows and locks.
Although it has a beefy after-market engine, the Camaro still stays true to its ‘80s roots. It is complete with a custom paint job that incorporates four different colors and two styles of striping. And the Camaro wouldn’t be complete without T-tops!
If you’re interested in breaking the mold and bidding on this beefed-up third-gen, it is set to cross the auction block at 5:00p.m. on Thursday September 15th at the St. Charles auction.
