Whether you’re restoring an iconic Chevy hot rod, like a ’50s Tri-Five, or a classic muscle car, like a first-generation Camaro, Classic Industries has just about every product you could ever need, from little dress-up accessories to metal body panels and full suspension systems. Recently, one particularly diehard Chevy fan with a very special restoration project turned to Classic Industries for their reliable service and genuine GM parts. His name is Donald Hilderbrand, and he is the proud owner of a 1973 Camaro Z28 L82, which he bought brand new when he was just 16 years old.

Having had the car for 41 years, Hilderbrand had done a few modifications to the Camaro over the years, prepping it for some weekend drag racing and souping it up to maintain Chevy’s famed muscle car performance despite the increasing emission controls and decreasing factory power numbers of the early 1970s. Though modifications had been done, Hilderbrand always made sure they were simple enough to reverse down the line, and once he reached his mid 50s, that’s exactly what he set out to do.

To bring his Camaro back to it’s ’70s glory, Hilderbrand turned to Mike Johnson of Mike’s Restorations in Amboy, Washington, who in-turn helped Hilderbrand put together a comprehensive list of restoration components straight out of Classic Industries’ Camaro catalog.

With the Camaro maintaining its original L82 350ci V8, Turbo 400 transmission and 10-bolt GM Posi-traction rearend, getting high-quality parts to compliment what the car already had going for it without breaking the bank was a huge priority. Because of Classic Industries’ offerings, Hilderbrand was able to secure an abundance of parts to bring his Z28 back to its glory days without having to sell the family farm.

The result of the installation of Classic Industries parts and the rest of the work done by Mike’s Restorations is the awesome ’73 Camaro you see here. Put together and ready to roll like it’s 1973 again, this bad boy is sure to turn heads and garner the attention it deserves now more than ever!
