Chevrolet Debuts New Sponsored Manchester United Jersey

Football “fan-demonium” is in the air everywhere right now as countries all over the world face off against each other in the FIFA World Cup. But just when you thought there couldn’t be any more soccer news for the week, Chevy just debuted their version of the Manchester United jersey. In fact, the Bowtie brand is so proud of their latest sponsorship venture that they even made a video portraying the evolution of the Manchester United jersey from way back when to the latest Bowtie-branded version. On Wednesday, July 9th, Chevrolet announced their 7-year shirt sponsorship for the Manchester United soccer club and debuted the new home jerseys, featuring a Chevy Bowtie prominently displayed on the chest.

Along with the announcement and jersey debut came the enhanced version of its Manchester United jersey evolution video, featuring fans, club legends and current stars of the club in different eras of jerseys. In the end, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, David De Gea, Juan Mata and Adnan Januzaj reveal the new Chevy jersey design.

“Manchester United has more than 659 million supporters around the world, and we want them to know that we march side by side with them,” Tim Mahoney, chief marketing officer, Global Chevrolet, stated in a recent press release. “We wanted to celebrate this new shirt with Manchester United supporters in an historic way because they deserve to be part of this important moment in club history.”

To help celebrate the new jersey’s debut, Chevy and Manchester United will be highlighting the pair’s partnership in upcoming events, including at the July 23rd Chevrolet Cup game, where the club will wear their new jerseys in a game for the first time, the club’s August 2nd match, where Chevy will act as a presenting sponsor, and a special “memorable fan moment” at the 2014-2015 opening Premier League match the weekend of August 16th.
