Callaway Competition USA Wraps Up New Livery For St. Petersburg Grand Prix

Callaway GT3-REver since garnering the Pole Position at the 1994 24 Hours of Le Mans, Callaway Cars has been a dominating force in endurance racing. Clinching numerous championships over the decades and utilizing the newest technologies and exacting engineering throughout Europe, Callaway Competition USA has now set its sights to competing on North American shores.

While our first glimpse of the Callaway GT3-R was in matte black, the new livery is quite fitting for a North American debut.

The Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (March 9-11) will be the North American debut of their C7 GT3-R in competition. We got a first-hand peek at the Callaway C7 GT3-R at the PRI show back in December, where they announced their intent to compete in the Pirelli World Challenge Series for 2018.

Leading up to the first event, Callaway Competition USA recently posted photos of the new team colors and provided a time-lapse video of the procedure to see how it all came together. The company has committed to not only competing in the Pirelli World Challenge Series in North America utilizing a two-car team, but also plans to defend their championship in the ADAC GT Masters in Europe with another duo of GT3-R Corvettes.

Callaway Competition USA recently announced that only one car will compete at St. Petersburg, driven by eight-year Callaway Competition veteran Daniel Keilwitz. Once completed, the second car will be driven by American driver, Michael Cooper, who has competed in the Pirelli World Challenge since 2012 and brings several Championship titles from this series.

Daniel Keilwitz (left) will compete in the sole GT3-R at St. Pete while teammate and Pirelli World Challenge veteran Michael Cooper (right) will join him once the second car becomes available.

We will be there as the Callaway GT3-R dukes it out for the first time in North America on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Florida. Stay tuned!
