ATI Performance Products Teams Up With powerTV

Thanks to impressive technological advancements over the last several years, the once unheralded and under-appreciated torque converter now finds itself as a legitimate challenger to the clutch combination in even the most extreme of drag racing applications, and one of the companies that has been pushing to the top is ATI Performance Products.

However, long before the recent surge of the torque converter, ATI was, and continues to be, a renowned name in the racing and high performance industry as a go-to source for driveline and drivetrain components. Their line of Super Dampers and flexplates can be found on race cars all over the globe, as can their transmission lineup that includes OEM-based models for Ford, GM, and Chrysler vehicles. Add in the torque converter lineup that ranges from the street to the strip and mild to the wild and you’ve got a potent catalog of products.

Said ATI’s JC Beattie, “We’re a family business. Mom, Dad and I are here, and we have 50 great employees, many of whom have been here for a long time. ATI was established in 1961 so we’re going on 50 years in business. When my dad started the company, ATI stood for Automatic Transmissions Incorporated, and we just went with the abbreviation over the years with our torque converters, transmissions, super dampers, and other products. And we manufacture everything at our facility here in Baltimore [MD].”

ATI Performance Products recently teamed up with powerTV to promote their full line of products, and in an upcoming update on our Project MaxStreet ’66 Chevy II, we’ll highlight the use of one of their supercharged dampers on our ProCharger-fed Musi/Edelbrock 555 big block. “powerTV has a lot of great content that I read myself, and because we’re all just your typical automotive enthusiasts at the end of the day, we tend to shift our business in the direction of what we might read ourselves. And so we think that in teaming up with powerTV, it’ll be a great fit for us now and into the future.”
